Today I’m releasing an episode of my podcast talking about time or rather the lack of it and how this relates to the pursuit of our goals. We all have 24 hours in a day, and yet it feels like time slips through our fingers. But what if the secret lies not in having more time, but in how we choose to spend the time we do have?

We must acknowledge that none of us knows how much time we have on this Earth. There are two types of time: chronological time and perceived time. While chronological time is fixed, our perception of time can vary.

So, the question is, what should we do with the time we have? The answer is deeply personal and individual, but one thing is certain – time is a priceless resource that cannot be regained once it's gone.

As a life coach, I often encounter people who are skilled at voicing what they don't want, but struggle to articulate what they do want. This is why focusing on what we desire, rather than what we wish to avoid, is crucial.

When we fixate on what we don't want, we create a sense of urgency and stress. However, when we shift our attention towards pursuing our inner goals – learning, growing, connecting, and making a difference – we experience purpose, joy, and a deep fulfilment. Inner goals emphasise personal growth and satisfaction over external achievements, such as money or material possessions.

To truly make the most of our time, we need to define our own version of success and find inspiration rather than despair in the achievements of others.

Here’s some key takeaways from today's episode:

  1. Time is both finite and subjective, and it's up to us to decide how we spend it.

  2. Focusing on our inner goals leads to a greater sense of purpose and fulfilment.

  3. Defining our own version of success is paramount in avoiding feelings of inadequacy and anxiety.

Listen in on the intriguing journey as we explore the relationship between time and inner goals.
